On March 24, the Wharton Latin American Conference officially returns to the University of Pennsylvania’s campus after a four-year hiatus, due to the pandemic.

The Wharton Latin American Conference (WHALAC) is the world’s largest LATAM conference organized by MBA students.

The organization is 100% student-led and comprises nearly two dozen students from The Wharton School — the world’s top business school, as ranked by USNews.

WHALAC is presented by three student-led organizations at Penn — the Wharton Latin American Student Association (WHALASA), which connects Wharton MBA students with the region; the Wharton Hispanic-American MBA Association (WHAMBAA), which represents all MBA students who identify as Hispanic-American and/or Latinx-American at Wharton; and Wharton Latino, an undergraduate student organization established with the purpose of promoting and bringing together the Latino community at Penn across all four undergraduate schools.

As with previous years, the mission of the Wharton Latin American Conference is to establish an open and multicultural forum to generate and discuss ideas about the future of Latin America, and debate key business opportunities and challenges of our region.

The goal is to generate a concrete path toward economic development, social equality, and political stability.
