Spectrum Health, one of the leading community health care providers in the Philadelphia area, has officially opened its newest health care center.

The new center, which is Spectrum’s fourth, is located at 3525-27 Cottman Avenue and celebrated its grand opening on Friday, Jan. 6.

"We are so proud of the work we have done for the past half-century — and continue to do — to make a positive difference in people's lives,” says Veronica Hill-Milbourne, Spectrum's president and CEO.

Spectrum is a federally qualified health center that offers a wide range of services, from adult and pediatric primary medical and dental care, to services to handle patients’ HIV/AIDS, behavioral health, weight management and care coordination needs.

Beginning in April 2023, OB-GYN services and an on-site pharmacy will also be available.

In addition to providing a wide range of services, Spectrum is also geared toward making health care accessible and affordable in often-overlooked communities, serving each patient regardless of their ability to pay.

The organization offers a sliding fee discount program for those who are uninsured and underinsured. The program is based on family size and household income.

“We care about our patients,” said Hill-Milbourne. “We value our patients’ trust in us and we are here to serve everyone with a world-class experience.”

These services serve as evidence of Spectrum’s dedication to ensuring that community members’ wellness journey goals are achievable.

With existing locations in West Philadelphia, North Philadelphia and South Philadelphia, Spectrum’s newest location now ensures that Northeast Philadelphia residents are able to receive the same services.

“This new chapter in our ability to truly live our motto of, ‘on your block and by your side’ is just another step in our constant innovations designed to make access to medical and dental care seamless and effective for our community members,” Hill-Milbourne added.

The grand opening event was also an open house, where attendees were provided the opportunity to take a tour of the center, meet staff, and also participate in games to win prizes.

A number of healthcare professionals, and local and state politicians were also in attendance to embrace Spectrum’s initiatives to improve the well-being of area residents and its goal of making a positive difference in the wellness of the often underserved population.
