Chef Jose Garces’ talent is continuing to branch out all over Philly.

The Iron Chef recently announced that he has another restaurant opening in the works for Philly locals to check out. Garces is opening a second restaurant in Radnor Township. Amada, a Spanish fusion restaurant, is set to open in early 2023.

The restaurant will be similar to the first Amada restaurant located in Old City.

“It will be a great addition to the exciting and rapidly growing Main Line dining scene,” Garces said in a statement to The Philadelphia Business Journal. “We have so many Garces fans from over the years come join us in Old City, and now we are bringing the concept right to them in their own backyards."

The structure of the Amada Radnor will include an open kitchen, as well as indoor and outdoor dining similar to Amada in Old City. His new restaurant will be big enough to occupy around 200 people.

Garces admits that Amada Old City was his first solo project, a restaurant he created when he left Stephen Starr. He now has more than five restaurants and other ventures under his belt in Philadelphia alone.

“Amada is near and dear to my heart,” said Garces. “It was the very first restaurant I opened when I went out on my own in 2005.”

His new restaurant in Radnor will also feature eclectic dishes that represent the country of Spain, including Cochinillo Asado (a whole roasted suckling pig), an assortment of empanadas, tapas, and an endless selection of wines, red and white sangria imported from Spain.

This will be the second restaurant that Garces has opened in Radnor Township. Just a few weeks ago, he opened his third Buena Onda location at 228 N. Radnor Chester Road. Buena Onda offers baja-style creations, such as fresh fish or shrimp tacos with a tequila lime glaze and red cabbage slaw, and other delicious creations.

So far, Garces will also be opening a BYOB and marketplace at the Cira Centre at 2929 Arch Street. He’s also opening a location inside of the Wells Fargo Center called, Garces Eats, which opens this month.

Last week, Garces also announced his residency at Volver will return for a second time. He already has his chefs lined up to create different dishes that represent different parts of the world.
