The well-known manufacturer of cosmetic ingredients, pharmaceutical, medical and health care products, as well as specialty chemicals, recently announced the appointment of Blanco, who also joined the firm's Board of Directors.

Replacing former President and CEO Ken Globus, who retired after nearly 40 years with the company, Blanco has more than 20 years of experience in the personal care industry and is a certified professional trainer.

Globus stated:

Beatriz is the ideal person to take over the leadership role at United-Guardian.

Blanco’s Career 

Blanco, who has an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, served as director of global business at Momentive Performance Materials, where she was also director of marketing with international specialty products. She is also a member of the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA). 

“My career has been focused on building and leading cross-functional marketing, sales and R&D teams with the goal of achieving long term sustainable growth.  I have had the privilege of working with very talented, creative and hard working people, many of which have become close friends. Together we have delivered significant profitable growth to chemicals companies . Through innovation and collaboration with customers we have transformed commodity businesses into fast growing specialty businesses ( while expanding revenues and improving margins),” reads Blanco’s LinkedIn profile.

For his part, Globus added: “With her extensive marketing experience in the personal care industry, and her business development skills, she will be well positioned to develop new strategies for growth, including strategic alliances and joint ventures, with the goal of increasing revenue from both domestic and international sales. I don’t believe we could have found a more qualified person to take United-Guardian to the next level.”
