The white rabbit, the red and blue pills, as well as the black cat are back. 18 years after the last film that closed the trilogy of the Wachowski sisters, which includes Matrix, Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions, on December 22 comes one of the most anticipated releases by fans of science fiction cinema. And, after an open ending in which humans and machines reached a temporary peace agreement, this fourth installment was more than expected and promises to solve some of the questions left open by its predecessor.

With the return of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively, the new film opens the door for the saga to continue to develop and continue to explore the universe that contemplates a futuristic world in which the Earth has been practically destroyed and humans try to survive a fierce war against machines powered by Artificial Intelligence.

The first Matrix movie, released in 1999 with widespread global fear of nearby Y2K, when it was thought that we would lose control over machines, was a global phenomenon and forever changed special effects technology in modern cinema. The popular scenes of our protagonists holding themselves in the air or dodging bullets that pass in ultra slow motion next to their faces, continue to be cited in hundreds of series and films worldwide.

Although some of the main actors of the first three installments do not appear in Matrix 4, especially Laurence Fishburne, Morpheus, and Hugo Weaving, Agent Smith, the first trailer released to promote its premiere in theaters and HBO MAX in the United States (for a month ), promises a triumphant return for Neo and his resistance friends.
