The Spanish-produced short film The Caddy, directed by Mexican Gabriel Beristain and starring Spaniard Manu Vega, has been selected to play at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival.

This year, the festival celebrates its 25th edition, and is part of a circuit selected by the American and British film academies that accredit the film for its access to the Oscar, BAFTA and ACCT races, respectively.

The Caddy begins its festival tour this year, and the first one in which it will participate is the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, where it will have its world premiere on July 5, at one of the most important festivals in Hollywood and important in the world in its category.

The film will be made into a feature film with the same cast and it is rumored that shooting could take place in Andalusia, Spain, according to a spokeswoman for the producers.

Within the "Crime" category, which brings together the most outstanding thrillers of the season around the world, the short film will appear virtually and offer the possibility of streaming. The Caddy uses a black comedy tone while going inside the minds and actions of men when faced with borderline situations.

The cast features Ron Perlman and Manu Vega in the lead roles, as well as Fernando Noriega, Antonio Mauri and Allison Dumbar. Raquel Gallego participates as director of photography and Jonathan Levi as production manager. A short film with a diverse team that hopes to reach the big screen soon as a feature film.
