The singer's followers claim that this new song is dedicated to Piqué, since she has stated in several interviews that this episode in her life has been "the most difficult and darkest."
According to information published by the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo, her new album seems to have no limits, as Shakira said that: "Every time I enter the studio to touch up a verse or to mix a song that is almost ready, I end up with good music."
"Monotonía" will be the follow-up to "Te Felicito," which she performed with Rauw Alejandro and charted at #1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart, and also reached #1 on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart. It also reached #10 on the Hot Latin Songs chart.
