In an interview with the New York Times, Karol G confirmed the rumors of a collaboration with Shakira. The new song will feature as part of her upcoming album Mañana será bonito.
The initials of the song "TQG" refer to the phrase "Te quedó grande," and it's the collab Bichota has waited for the longest.
Karol G told the Times that she's been sending Shakira songs for a long time, but "no song seemed right."
Shakira told the Times "perfectly how she feels right now," and that's why she decided to help Karol G to finish the track, which they've defined as "a minor-key ballad tinged with reggaeton."
"People are going to know a lot about my personal life with my songs, but I don't want to have the songs inside me anymore, because I know that people can heal a lot of things with music," Karol G told the New York Times.
For her, the new song is an experiment that she wants to show her fans.
"Writing songs for me is a very good way to cure things that I can't explain," she finished.
Mañana será bonito will be released next Friday, Feb. 24 on all music platforms and will include several of the artist's singles like "PROVENZA," "GATÚBELA," and "CAIRO."
