January 18th, 2023With the crack of the bat and the smell of hot dogs filling the stadium, you know its baseball season once again. The 2017 Philadelphia Phillies celebrated their Opening Day game in front of over 45,000 fans. For most of the game not only did the fans have to deal with gusty winds and a chilly temperature, but also saw their home team bats go cold.
During the 6th inning the Phillies came alive but were looking at a 7 run deficit. With one run in the sixth, three in the eighth, and two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Phillies were looking to steal a victory over the Washington Nationals. Sadly, the door was slammed shut on the home team and the Nationals got the 7-6 victory. We take a look of some photos that caught our eye during this first home game of a hopefully great season.
