The festival program will begin at 6:30 p.m. with performances by Pavel Ruiz, a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Cartagena, who plays genres such as rhythm and blues (R&B), pop and indie pop; Rise of Belt, a Cartagena post-rock and progressive rock band; and the Cartagena duo of DJs and electronic music producers Costa Noise, who, through analog machines, create a performance with a techno sound.
In addition to the group of local artists, the night will feature the presentation of the group Pueblo Music from Santa Marta. This is a retro-futuristic musical project that mixes Afro-Caribbean, hip-hop, R&B and Latin rock sounds.
This year, the festival will also feature an academic day. On Friday, Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the CFCE, the talk "Alternative Music and the Sustainable Development Goals" will be given by Catalina Navarrete, director of Pa' La Calle Music Fest.
The festival, which aims to strengthen the alternative music industry in the Caribbean region and stimulate the economic reactivation of the cultural sector, is supported by the Ministry of Culture, under the National Cultural Cooperation Program, the Spanish Cooperation Training Center in Cartagena de Indias, Oikos Network Corporation, Kunsamu Foundation, Masaya Hostels, Gente Rara, and Seven Music Studio.
