PHILADELPHIA -- AL DÍA News is pleased to announce that it has won an award from the Local Media Association in the 2015 Newspaper of the Year contest. In the Class D 37,000+ (non-daily) division, AL DÍA took third place.

Judges said, “AL DÍA packs plenty of political and cultural news into a paper that boasts grabber coverage (the judges particularly appreciated the comic book-style front-page treatment touting a story about Marvel’s Axel Alonso). The paper, mostly in Spanish with English and Spanish versions online, serves the Latino community in Philadelphia well.”

The first place winner was, the St. Louis American, while Lancaster Farming took the second place nod.

AL DÍA is proud to be one of three newspapers from Pennsylvania that was honored by the Local Media Association.

The Local Media Association is a thriving and innovative association that serves more than 2,200 local media companies (newspapers, TV, radio, directories, pure plays, and more) as well as several hundred research & development partners in the industry. LMA assists local media companies with the digital transition via cutting-edge programs, conferences, webinars, research and training.
